In collaboration with Durham University, Wax Digital has been investigating public sector opinions and attitudes towards the new coalition government’s plans for deficit repair, what scope there is to gain future spend efficiencies and how procurement and finance professionals view achievements to date.
Conducting quantitative research in a broad cross-section of public sector organisations, we discovered a positive and pragmatic attitude from those individuals at the sharp end of savings responsibility.

Research findings clearly showed that public sector procurement and finance leaders recognise the scale of their UK deficit reduction challenge but are undaunted and eager to play their part. Bureaucracy, poor spend-management and lack of automation however, could stand in their way.
