Thorntons Adopts eSourcing Strategy Over Next Three Years
High Street Confectioner Predicts Significant Savings with Wax Digital
High street confectioner Thorntons has adopted an eSourcing strategy to drive down costs and make significant bottom line savings over the next three years with Wax Digital eSourcing.
The strategy has been adopted after twelve months of eSourcing events – a dozen in total - conducted in partnership with Wax Digital.
“We’ve spent twelve months assessing the savings on both direct items such as hazelnuts and indirect spend items such as diesel, air-conditioning units and carrier bags, and in all cases we have made considerable savings – up to 27% on a single buying commitment,” said David Proctor, Head of Purchasing and Supply, Thorntons.

“Having proved the worth of the eSourcing events, we have now engaged with Wax Digital over the next three years allowing us to host our own smaller value and volume events – conducted on a flat rate rather than a per event fee.
